Where is Sparta Located? Sparta is located in ancient Greece on the banks of Eurotas River in Laconia in south-eastern Peloponnese Sparta's Government and Hierarchy? Sparta had an unusual system of Government. Two Kings were the rulers but there was thing called council of elders to limit their power. Hierarchy- Kings and the Council of Elder, Aristocrats, Perioeci Class, and Helots Military- A boy became a Fighter from not being cuddled when they were a baby. They would get taught stories and they would get sent away from their parents and they would go through training. Difference between Sparta and Athens- Athens military was not as military based. There Culture was Forward looking and Sparta was laid back. Athens outlook was democratic and Sparta's was Oligarchic. The Military for Athens they didn't have to be in the Military but Spartans they had to. They Left at age 7 and went to training school. Peloponnese War- They attacked a lot of invasions and they went to war with Athens.
